Sleepwalking parent?!

I think my husband had a sleepwalking episode recently, it’s never happened before but it’s shaken both of us!!! He had been out and had a few drinks, nothing crazy and he had come home seeming to be fine, but probably the most drinks since she was born in November.

I woke up and he has walked around to my side of the bed. He tilted the next to me, and I asked what he was doing and he said ‘she needs’ and just gestured towards me, so I asked again and he did the same gesture. I asked again and he said he was going to pick her up because she was crying (she wasn’t, she was sleeping) and then he walked out to go to the loo. He seemed like he was entirely awake.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is it likely to be a one off? I do think it’s linked to the alcohol as it’s never happened before but obviously can’t be sure!

DD had a few sleepwalking episodes . You could also talk to her and she'd answer half normally. Once even arguing she wasn't asleep. I found her at the livingroom table once waiting for breakfast at 3 am. Various things. She hasn't had one in ages though.

I used to as well as a child, no idea what happened just waking up in a different room/bed in the morning. According to my mum I also sleep danced once.

I‘m more concerned about what could have happened if he had actually picked the baby up! Or the chances of it happening again?
