10 month old fighting sleep at night

Hey all, hope everyone is well.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in baby of a similar age and whether anything helped to send them back off to nod!
For us sleep training is not an option, no judgement but please don’t say to leave him to cry it out/gentle sleep training as that’s not something we see working.

Exclusively BF 10 month old has always been an awful sleeper, severe reflux from day one and diagnosed CMPA at 2 months. Weaned off medication at around 6 months and all fine on that front.
We don’t really see much change at most of the regression stages as he’s always struggled to go down without nursing/being rocked (in awkward positions whilst pacing obviously 🤣)
He doesn’t oversleep in the day, usually having anything from 1.5 to 3 hours naps which can be over 2 or 3 naps, pushing to 4 some days because of the super early wake ups but never usually increasing the duration to more than 3.5hrs.

His bedtime routine starts around 7.30 and we get him down by 8 or just after. Not consistent with wake ups, good nights are two feeds and getting down within 25 mins each time, bad nights up to 9 wake ups and split nights, however we put that down to separation anxiety/hitting milestones/teething/illness!

Usually up for the day between 5
and 5.30.
Recently he’s been waking earlier and earlier, from about 3.45 the last two nights and impossible to get back down, he’s grumpy, crying, screaming and miserable most of the day because he’s only had 7.5 or 8 hours overnight.

He’s definitely a baby on the lower end of sleep needs but we know he needs more because of how fussy he is. Any advice or just someone who’s been through this telling us it gets better much welcomed!! 😅😭 xx

@LauraAdd I don't have much advice just solidarity-- I've been up for the day since 4.30am with my almost 10 month old, her wake ups are getting earlier and earlier😵‍💫

I could have written your post, my daughter was also diagnosed with CMPA at 2 months (and other allergies since), is still breastfed to sleep etc. she started sleeping great a few weeks ago and gave me false hope but it's all gone backwards again :( is your boy possibly teething? I think it may be that for my daughter as she wakes seeming to be in pain and top teeth are still to appear
I hope someone will be along soon with some wise advice, and that you are able to catch up on some sleep at nap time xx

Oh I’m sorry to hear you’re in the same situation!!
we also had about a week of better sleep before this, still compared to come, a short 8-5, however only a couple
of wakes and easy to get down which meant we were able to have a good 7 hours ourselves.
he’s has been teething for ages but has 6 teeth so I don’t think it’s that on this occasion. I’m back at work and he’s going to nursery and it’s accelerated his skills development so there’s an element of that but he’s waking so exhausted he’s not practicing, just miserable….!
just another little storm to weather I guess, I think our reflux bubbas have such a tough start that they get into some bad sleep habits early on and I guess it’s going to be a long time until we get a full nights sleep 😅
good luck, I hope you aren’t too exhausted today and you manage to get some rest x

I don't have advice either but just wanted to give you my solidarity. My DD woke up 4.30/5am for months and nothing helped with that. She grew out of it at some point so there's light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck!
