Paraphrasing help please!

I'm not very good at paraphrasing and for my literature review, this is what I am expected to do. So far, I have loads of quotes but I'm worried that I am going to get penalised for it, so I was wondering if anyone could paraphrase this quote for me, to get me started?

'The lack of a single precise definition of play has led to the adoption of the widely used term 'free-flow' play (Bruce 1994). This term is used to describe play which is characterised by common features identified in all the literature on play'

I would be really grateful to anyone who could help.

TIA

Play is well known to aid learning and development in a veriety of ways. Free flow play is used to describe child led rather than adult focused activitys. Then I would talk about theorists and how they fit in for example brunners discovery learning

It depends on how many words you have and what level you are really Im assuming at least a level four?

And Im always told 4 quotes per 1000 words I love quotes they dont count in your word count!

Thanks for that! The lit review is 3000 words long, and as I am really only at the start of it, I'm not too worried about word count at the moment. I'm studying at the end of level 5 now.

As for quotes, I love them too, like you say, they don't count but we were told the lit review had to be mostly paraphrasing and I'm terrible at it. I had loads of quotes which supported and argued each other but I'm trying to not use them at the moment. If it comes to it and I'm well over the word count, then I will jiggle them about a bit and put them in, but until then, I am going to perservere with the paraphrasing business.

Thanks again for your help

but i might be aiming it to much towards my course i dont know what you are studying!

and weve had lots of talks about how paraphrasing is plagerism and will be picked up by the anti plagerism softwear but im sure they are just trying to scare us!

Try to explain it out loud and see how you put it then
