Amidst all the stress of parenting, just taking a moment to embrace the joy when they are asleep, in your arms or bed, or house generally.
My little one is in my bed, sleep-talking and generally asleep but stirring occasionally. Yes, I'd rather have a night's, week, years uninterrupted sleep, but I know at some point they will start sleeping through and I'll miss these nights. Though at times I curse them, even now, when I'm woken at 11pm, 2am, 5am etc.
Anyone else? And also, after hearing about those CSA images last night, plus all the horrendous child abuse stories, often at the hands of parents, it makes me feel so sad that not all children feel such love in their homes. Don't get me wrong, I have boundaries, I have raised my voice, but for sure, my children feel loved and it really saddens me to think of those children who don't have safe homes and thosr who are neglected.
