Toddler impossible to get dressed

Our 20month old is impossible to get dressed without tears and upset. We try options between tops and trousers etc but it’s no to everything and up to an hour of thrashing around and taking off anything we manage to wrangle onto her. Advice on our to navigate this? I think she’d happily run around in just her nappy if she had a choice

Give her 2 options. Say we can't go anywhere if not dressed to go out. Star chart rewarding good behaviour.

Yup. My 2.5 yo still goes through periods of this (and can partially dress herself so makes it harder).

I now pull the 'I only talk to little girls who get dressed' and go and sit in my room. If she comes to find me it's 'oh, are you ready to get dressed now?' And if she says no... rinse and repeat with another room.

I just make it very clear that it's boring and I'm not going to engage with it. Lots of praise and encouraging her to help / do it herself when she cooperates.

A star chart wouldn't have worked for us when she was 20mo and I doubt it would now, to be honest!
