Hi!
DS four weeks old.
His daytimes currently consist of napping on mummy, feeding, napping again, sitting in his bouncer for ten minutes, crying, feeding, getting carried around the room a bit, napping, tummy time for five minutes, during which he just lies there, nap, the bed, with other feeds obviously happening.
Seems relatively happy, feeding well and sleeping as well as can be expected for a four week old.
Apart from tummy time, what am I supposed to be doing with him?
He is quite fussy - is he bored?
Anyone any tips on whether we should be doing more than this at this age, and if so, what?

Ooooo, a lovely stage.
You can sing to him. Talk to him, telling him what you see, what you're doing. Nursery rhymes. Stroke him with something soft like a feather (my DC used to love having their backs and foreheads stroked with an ostrich feather when they were babies. Still do.) I started reading to mine when they were weeks old -sounds nuts, but early language development is already happening. Baby massage. Eye gazing. Bath time.
So many lovely ways to connect.

You can do exercises with him. Arms up, down and cross over body. Legs straight and bent into tummy. Helps with movement and digestion. Baby massages with some baby oil

It sounds to me like you're doing everything right so try not to worry. Babies of a month old can't possibly be under stimulated. The whole world is an adventure to them. Keep talking as they'll recognise your voice.

sing to him he will also enjoy looking at your face while you talk to him and he will be noticing how your mouth moves. It’s amazing how babies learn to talk and even to read

Get a sling and just carry them everywhere. You chat constantly, start to dictate every tiny thing you do which makes you seem insane, but gives baby best chance of learning talking, language from a really young age. Best thing you can do. Plus they're close you cuddle them kiss them a million times an hour so they're safe happy and growing perfectly.

There’s lots of things you can do with him, rent him as he’ll like to hear your voice, set up black and while cards for him to look at which is good for tummy time, sing to him. Most important get him out and about for walks.
