Should I have another baby?

I've been set on getting pregnant at the start of the year for around a year now, I want my
Children close in age, DD is 9 months. We can afford it. Only issue is DD isn't the best sleeper,
She still wants to be in her cot in our room so she can see me, she's very clingy at the minute but in 9 months surely this can change. Should I go for it and start trying (got pregnant first try last time) or wait until things settle (knowing things could change again)

There probably never going to be an ideal time really. Got pregnant with my 1st pretty quick but 2nd one too longer. Your little one will defo sleep easier with time but an issue might be that you'll be heavily pregnant (if you get pregnant quick) with an 18 month and you'll have 2 in nappies. Other ppl make it work but is hard, maybe try in a few months?

Your body needs time to recover and replace nutrients after a pregnancy, so medical advice is to wait 18 months before getting pregnant again. Research shows that women who get pregnant less than 18 months after giving birth are more likely to have premature babies with low birth weight. So it's better to wait, for the sake of the baby.

9 months is very young and your DD will still need a lot of attention for some time, personally I'd wait unless it's a case of time running out.

Have had two in nappies over 3 years here. Got a bigger bed and they're all in with me and I get far more sleep than when I tried to make anyone sleep alone! Personally a small age gap has worked well but if I was younger I wouldn't have rushed it. Being able to enjoy your toddler and watch them develop into full people without making them watch you baby someone else is something to treasure too. I definitely saw benefits to waiting until older one was 2 before conceiving. I think the guilt at your baby sharing your attention and cuddles and milk with a new baby is obviously greater with a small age gap. But there are pros and cons of all gaps.

I vote crack on! Yes it's hard at the beginning but any age will present challenges. Admittedly mine were good sleepers. But best of friends now at 3 and 4.

I fell pregnant when my DD was 9 months old. Having DC2 tomorrow so will let you know 🤣 DD has been a good sleeper ... But in contrast my niece still doesn't sleep well at all and she's 3...so you could wait in hope that sleep improves but it might not! Agree with PP I'm sure there's pros and cons to all age gaps. Just got to do what you feel is right for you and your family x
