Help, need ideas for entertaining energetic 14mo

We go to a toddler group and a music group once a week, plus soft play usually once a week, but I am struggling a bit to keep him happy the rest of the time. He can't walk yet but gets frustrated in the buggy. At the moment the park is tricky as I've got terrible hay fever. He is happy at home but I can't help feeling it's a bit samey for him (and me!), also he is going through a bit of a destructive/throwing things phase and is soon bouncing off the walls.

Any ideas welcome to help him burn off some energy!

It's really difficult isn't it?!

Try here for ideas. Use the thingy on the right to select age and type of activity etc and it comes up with lots of ideas.

Only things I can think of are:

Empty contents of a shredder on the floor with a couple of wooden spoons....
Make a bowl full of bubbles using washing up liquid (scoop bubbles only in to a big bowl as they form) and or a bowl of nearly set jelly with objects in it (cut up fruit / toy dinosaurs etc).

Paddling pool (£3 in woolworths)

Go to a local Borders or Waterstones to the children's section and hang out there - we all do it and it is an informal stay and play group really!

Go to the supermarket and put him in the trolley and park him next to the crisps / small things in boxes for him to pull off the shelves and you can put them back again .
