Sexting social media chats

Hello, I'm looking for any advice, my 12yo daughter has been messaging someone that she doesn't know on snapchat since the 24th December, she has received explicit photos/messages with requests for her to send the same. She has sent non-explicit photos but photos and ongoing messages none the less. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice would be welcomed.

I think the police would be my first step. Also her school maybe.
How did you find out?

My ex husband found her messaging this person and took her phone. He has contacted the police and they're speaking to her tonight

Report to the police and absolutely no bloody Snapchat in the future. It’s paedophile haven on there. I’ve told my dc no way they will be having it before they turn 16, same with all other social media.
