Where am I going wrong with 15month and sleep

Hi ladies

my 15 month old no longer sleeps through despite being extremely tired - even after nursery days she isn’t sleeping through.

been like this since around November time when she started nursery. I assumed it was due to separation anxiety at first. She then became unwell over Xmas, pretty poorly actually and ended up in hospital, and now cries until I put her into bed with me - this is usually the same time each night around 1am.

she goes down between 6:30pm and 7pm but wakes up a couple of hours later and won’t go off without more milk.

I started to worry that I was under feeding her. Spoke to HV’s who said be careful not to overfeed? So now I’m just confused.

this is her routine so far for feeds and naps:

6:30am wake
3/4oz milk
7:30am breakfast - usually porridge and peanut butter, or 1 x wetabiz. Usually also has half a banana in the morning.

9:30/10am - snack - usually something like grated cheese, or fruit

11-11:30am - 7oz milk before nap. Nap until around 12:30/1pm

1pm - lunch - usually cheese/avocado wraps with sides such as cucumber, cut up avocado, and fruit

3pm - snack - usually again fruit, or depending on if she didn’t like the lunch maybe even slice of toast

5/5:30pm - dinner - usually eats what I eat, pasta dishes, pies, fish fingers etc, all with sides so corn on the cob usually with broccoli or mixed veg. Then has fruit and a yoghurt for dessert.

6:30pm/7pm - 9oz milk before bed and has the lot.

at meal times I always offer more and she never accepts, and she’s also not afraid to tell me when she’s finished so it’s not as if she’s devouring her food and then is left hungry.

nursery advised that they were stopping 2 days in the day and going down to one big day due to her being really cranky and struggling to nap in the PM. I’ve found this works for me also hence the long mid day nap.

where am I going wrong? I feel awful.

You're not going wrong. Mine still had a bottle in the night at this age sometimes. They're going through developmental leaps and growth spurts too so do sometimes need a bit more. If she's going straight back to sleep after a bottle then I wouldn't worry about it, she obviously needs it

Sounds like a classic sleep regression to me! We’ve just come out of one and I promise you you’re not doing anything wrong. She eats what she likes and she sleeps when she likes ….but she’s one so of course she’s furious about it. Just keep going you’re giving her everything she needs.

One thing I remind myself of often is “ they’re not giving you a hard time, they’re having a hard time.” It’s just one of those things my love. - Veteran mummy of 3 ❤️

Sounds fine to me, they often just don’t sleep! Give her more milk, it won’t be forever
