Help me get some sleep! 7 month old baby

I’m hoping for some ideas on new approaches I can try to improve my baby’s (and my!) sleep.

My eldest woke every 2 hours until she dropped her nap at 3 years old. I now have a 7 month old and I’m up 5/6/7… times a night. I honestly get about 4 or 5 hours of broken sleep a night.

For context: I’m exclusively breastfeeding, and I cosleep with the baby.

And for clarity: I’m wondering if there’s anything I should explore that would address an underlying issue (e.g combo feeding to keep them fuller for longer). I don’t want to derail with a debate on sleep training, but this is not something I’m willing to do.

Any ideas, wise MNetters?

What do you give your baby for dinner? At this stage, rather than fill them up with formula at bed time, you might be able to extend that first night sleep by keeping them full with eg porridge with added peanut butter. My baby liked Milupa Sunshine to start with and will now have real porridge oats with nut butter.

I think at seven months breastfed babies are still expected to wake for at least one/two night feeds? But they probably aren't waking for hunger 5-7 times. FWIW, my baby is almost nine months, was combination fed, now formula, wakes 2-3 times per night. But only one, maybe two of those wakes requires settling (shush pat). While still BF, I used to send LO's dad in to settle all wakes before 2am and only BF for the first wake after that point. Then the same procedure til 5.30am.
