Hello, this may be a bit of a long shot, but could anyone recommend some nurseries in the Sutton/Cheam/Banstead area?

we are moving house soon and need to find a nursery for our child who will be 2. We need to find somewhere fairly soon so our options are limited but some of the ones we are considering are

  • bumpsa daisies nursery in Overton park
  • bright horizon nursery in banstead
  • shapes day nursery in banstead
  • glaisdale nursery in Cheam (they can only do 2 days a week which would be doable but I’d be concerned about settling)

Any views on the above, or recommendations, would be welcome!

we viewed a few of the busy bees nurseries and didn’t really like them

I live in your area. The Barn in Banstead is supposed to be really good?

im also looking at Sutton House Montessori in the middle of Sutton but the house are shorter than others so depends what you need?

Both mine went to the Old Barn in Banstead mentioned above but they were downgraded to inadequate on Ofsted (think they've got back up to good)

The staff there are lovely but it's mostly really young girls who are early on in their career. We didn't see any curriculum learning and found communication patchy

I've heard good things from Shapes and would highly recommend the Jancett group of nurseries in Wallington

Thanks! Will take a look at the old barn nursery, I think I came across it a while ago but didn’t look into it too much although I can’t remember why. Will have another look though!

Sutton house looks good but is term time only which won’t work for us unfortunately, and I think wallington will be a bit too far with traffic.

quite keen to view Shapes nursery as the website looks impressive. Hopefully the traffic won’t be too bad getting into Banstead from
cheam

Shapes is excellent and I recommend it highly. Great setting, very clean and well maintained, lots of interesting toys and equipment, loads of fun activities are always planned out. Sometimes the local fire engine visits, there are ducklings at easter, dressing up, lots of themed events, tasty healthy food... but most importantly the environment is caring and supportive, and the staff are kind, fun and engaged. My child loves it there.

Thanks, unfortunately shapes didn’t have the availability we needed but it did look good! We went with bright horizons in Banstead in the end. He’s only been there a few weeks but so far we are very happy with it, the staff seem genuinely interested in the children’s wellbeing and it’s a lovely calm atmosphere compared to lots of other nurseries. It also has a great garden. Most importantly my son just seems happy there and smiles when we talk about the nursery staff at home

That doesn't surprise me about availability, they're pretty full. So glad to hear you found a place you're happy with at BH.
