Hi, so my 13 month old has starting showing symptoms of cow milks allergy so want to try them on a different type of milk to see. So many alternatives and was wondering if anyone reccommend a different milk and any good dairy free recipes books I could look at. Also will she grow out of it? Thanks

She needs 350 mg of calcuim a day, don’t forget vitamin D drops and an alternative milk which contains iodine. Oatley barrista is often recommended by dietitians.

Don’t give soya milk as 50% of children CMPA are also allergic to soya. Be aware of none medical grade lactose eg teething powders as these aren’t suitable.

Most children out grow it. If she has CMPA then she need to cow milk free for at least 6 months before trying the milk ladder.

Try alpro growing up oat milk if can't have the soya one. It's for 1-3 year olds

My daughter had CPMA and has gladly grown out of it. Advice is to stop all cows milk products for a period of six months, then restart them, gradually working through 'the milk ladder'. So, it wouldn't just be a matter of changing milk but a significant diet change to test the difference and try and eliminate the allergy.

It's quite the task, so if you're not sure it is an allergy it's worth getting advice before making any major change.
