Two year old bored of bath time

Just that really. His toys are all a bit young for him now (and mouldy so they have to go).

He’s got plastic boats and pouring cups, stuff like that but he’s lost interest so Im after toy/play inspiration for bath time.

Don't take ages over it - wash his body and hair, chat to him while doing it, out. Give him a sponge or flannel and get him to wash himself. He doesn't have to have anything to play with if he is occupied in other ways.

I hated bath toys because they were always going mouldy and gross and having to be thrown away! Mine are 9 & 5 now so we don’t really have them anymore, but what worked best for my kids were just flannels and old shampoo bottles for filling and pouring, with the odd kitchen implement chucked in like a slotted spoon for
stirring, which I could just put in the dishwasher after. Also calpol syringes are good in the bath for filling and squirting.

Although when we did have bath toys one of the biggest hits was a plastic tea set - I had to drink endless cups of pretend tea!

Boots sell some fun play foam my little one enjoyed - offer a shower?

Bath crayons?

New action figures to play with?

When it is much warmer maybe a garden bath for fun?

@Theresacatinmykitchenwhatamigonnado yeah I see your point. I guess I’ve always just that bit of time at the end of the day playing with him in the bath as we wind down.
He does have his flannel that he uses to wash himself but recently he’s getting tetchy about even having a bath, which I had assumed was maybe a bit of boredom.

@WhatALovelyWayToBurn funny you should mention that because his favourite “toys” at the moment are the empty shower gel bottles I chuck in when I’m done with them and can’t be arsed to take down to the recycling bin. And the shower squidgee thing.
I do think some of the other bits you’ve suggested might go down well. Like all parents, I have about 300 Calpol syringes I could spare. I might try some of these things tonight.

Absolutely loathed to spend £15 quid on some plastic water fountain thing that will get used a few times and then chucked away for mould.

Just do it quick. In and out. Or maybe a quick shower. He doesn't have to play and linger. It's cold at the moment anyway.

My two year old got this for Christmas which he loves, (so does my 11 year old 😂) https://uk.nuby.com/products/wacky-pipes-bath-toy his only other bath toy is this boat https://www.greentoys.co.uk/products/submarine-blue-handle?srsltid=AfmBOoqvUNz5MkpKp7qDvD47KmWPcV3FV9voRWy65_L73VkwZJ7VLi1K which is brilliant and yet to go mouldy. It doubled up as a jug so he plays with the boat and pours water from it too.

Apart from these two I just chuck some flannels in for him to play with and any empty shampoo/shower gel bottles I have lying around for him to squirt water from.

Sterilising tablets work wonders on bath toys, fill the sink, throw a couple of tablets in then the toys. If you pull the water into the squeezy toys the mould will come out of them.

I'm sure the Milton fluid would also work. I use tablets because I had a bundle that had been bought but BF and never needed them
