1.5 week old baby - posetting on every feed

Hi,

I'm getting quite worried about my 1 and half week old baby, he is spitting out / being sick (not sure which) after every feed, he didn't do it to begin with but now it's more or less every feed. It doesn't just come out of his mouth, it also comes out of his nose.

Even if he has just been on for 15 mins he will posett it out. Does that mean he isn't taking the food, or he just took too much?

Does it mean I have to feed again if he brings it up?

m/w coming this afternoon so will talk to her but just wondered if any one had any advice on here.

Dd used to do this after every feed as well. I wondered if it was reflux but tbh it never really developed into anything. It just stopped as she got older and she stopped guzzling so fast.

It sometimes looks like a lot more than it is, I'm sure he's not bringing the whole feed up though.

Do you think it's the whole feed and is it coming out with force or just 'falling' out?

Is he breast or bottle fed?

That does sound ok - do you think it's the whole feed or just a bit/some? He may end up eating little and often and will get everything that he needs but you could go back to the GP if you're worried that he's not thriving or seeming healthy to you but possetting is everso normal and rarely an issue . The valves that keep milk in their stomachs takes a while to mature and work properly, so that's why things seems to come out just as easily as they go in! Don't forget to wind him well and maybe keep him upright a bit more after a feed but don't worry too much.
