Baby sleeping face down

Hi everyone,

My 9 month old has recently started sleeping on her stomach but her face is completely pressed up against the mattress. She can roll and lift herself up so I know if she needs to get out of that position she can but it’s worrying me so much. I’m constantly checking her and losing sleep over it. I put her to sleep on her back but she instantly rolls over on to her stomach, her face isn’t even to the side it’s completely down so her nose and mouth is covered. Is there anything I can do?

Once they can roll it’s fine.

Mine did this at 4 months when I wasn't sure she could roll herself back! They like to make sure even when they do finally sleep that we can't sleep...

She was fine. Apparently if they can get themselves there, they can undo it. Really daft way to sleep though.

This is how we were TOLD to lay them down when mine were little!

The only seriously dangerous thing that happened to one of my babies was when she rolled from front to back and choked on vomit.

Your DD can roll now and move her head. She will be fine as long as you are not using a soft pillow.

When mugs were little that's the way we were told to lie them. It's fine honestly.
