7 year old walking

Can your 7 year old keep up with you when you walk reasonably quickly, or do they need to run a little to keep up? DD always needs to run to keep up with me, and I'm wondering if that is normal?

Unless dc is the same height and same length legs then of course they will have to run to keep up if you are walking quickly.
