Maxi-Cosi Nomad Plus car seat

Hello mummies,

Has anyone used this car seat? I need a lightweight second car to be used primarily in grandmas's car and when we travel ( frequently ) abroad in a hire car. I'd love rear facing but can't seem to find any lightweight ones suitable for a 3/4 year old. My daughter is 3.5 and quite tall. I came across the Maxi-Cosi Nomad Plus and whilst it seems great, it looks a little flimsy and I'm anxious about how safe it is. Keen to hear others experiences. Thanks

If she's tall she probably won't fit in it. The harness height on it is pretty low, and the max height is 105cm. (But it might be outgrown before this, even).

There are lightweight rear facing seats for tall 3yos but they aren't cheap - Tinyseats 2 or Axkid One. Or if you're going somewhere in Spain, Germany or Sweden it might be possible to rent an ERF seat.

Ultimately something like Maxi Cosi Tanza i-size or Recaro Monza CFX would be good but at 3.5 she is right on the lower acceptable age point and you might not be comfortable. If you don't mind paying out twice, Joie Stages might get you through to age 4/4.5 or so rear facing and then you could change to one of those folding boosters.
