Overlapping toes now causing issues

Hi
my daughter is nearly five and recently started primary school.
She’s always had overlapping toes. The middle one goes under and the second one goes over. Every time I have mentioned to a doctor in passing or health advisor I’m told she would grow out of it and honestly I assumed she’s fine as she’s never complained of foot pain, runs. Skips. Dances. Everything. Her feet appeared flat without shoes.

anyway she’s been wearing school shoes ( they are the correct size. If anything they are too wide as she has skinny feet. And during a bath the other night I noticed her middle toenails have begun peeling. They have lifted. Holding her foot I can see the toes aren’t lying flat and it overlaps even in shoes.

I called the doctors earliest they can get us in is two weeks from now as it’s not deemed an emergency. Then if they agree the refer on the nhs is months.

is this going to get a lot worse? Are her feet to messed up? Is there anything I can do to help? Sorry freaking out a little bit here. Thanks

Could you afford an appointment privately with a podiatrist?

As something you can do in the meantime please look into buying her some barefoot shoes, the wide toe box is a core feature and sounds like it would be helpful to her
