Worried about ALP results

Hi,
I have a 15 month old. He recently had blood tests. His ALP (a liver blood test) has come back at 1380 (3x the normal limit) All other results are normal. His vitamin D and bone tests are normal. So he’s got to have more tests done.
what could it be?

Can I ask please why he was having blood tests? Has he had gastroenteritis recently?

Hi yes he had a sickness bug before Christmas.
He had blood tests because he was very pale and drinking loads but not a lot of wet nappy’s.

OK he could have been dehydrated after being sick so few wet nappies. It's good that they are checking him out . There's lots of things that could cause a high level like that but please try not to worry. There can often be random high levels following a stomach bug and when tested next they are back in normal range. It can be IBS related, liver problems unfortunately the list is long.Anyone have any autoimmune diseases in your family? Was he premature?

Lots of common childhood viruses can cause liver enzymes to go up. It's good that your LO is being monitored.

Hi,
No no family genetic problems and he was only a week early. He was in the nicu when he was born as he came out not breathing but he made a full recovery. It’s just worrying because the levels are so much higher than they should be 🙈
