What do people do about baby monitors when travelling?

Looking for advice/recommendations please.
What do people do when travelling with baby about a monitor? Do you take your one from home and re-connect to the WiFi wherever you are? Or do you take a cheaper/second monitor? I've been looking for bluetooth ones but not having any luck. Does anyone have any recommendations please? I'm reluctant to unplug the monitor from the baby room at home as it's set up perfectly!

never had a WiFi one - So I just took it and plugged in at wherever we traveled was easy so a basic one might be useful

although with my second kid I was more relaxed and left him upstairs at parents and just popped up and down to check 🤷‍♀️

Yep we had a basic BT one instead of a WiFi one

How ever did we cope before monitors and apps?

Ignore the baby/child when they cried because you couldn’t hear them? The poster said they’re on holiday enjoying themselves, a few floors away so can’t hear the baby/child from that far. Hardly rocket science to understand why they might want to take a monitor.

If you have an iPad or a spare work phone you can get. Baby monitor app

We have always used one without WiFi as thought they were safer and easier for travelling. It was a cheapish one off Amazon and has lasted 4yrs. We used it loads, probably more when they’re older as you can see if they’re still in bed and haven’t gone wandering, if they’re asleep or playing about, loads of things!

Everyone's life was a bit shitter, like a lot of stuff. 🤷

A matter of perspective. Parents seem so much more afraid of not doing it ‘right’ because of all the conflicting information they are bombarded with.

Parents who would previously have had their options limited by needing to hear their baby can now do what the OP is planning and use a baby monitor.

If you think wanting/needing to be within earshot of your baby is a matter of perspective then you possibly are being bombarded with useless information as that seems like a basic of good parenting to most people. I have never seen anything that recommends leaving a small baby out of earshot whole on holiday, in fact very much the opposite.

I think we had really basic plug in ones that we took with us.

I’m pretty sure that 99% of the world don’t use them at all
