9 month old sucking boob all night

Hi there,

I am looking for some advice for me and my 9 month old baby girl. We have coslept the latter part of the night usually from 3am onwards to help us all sleep. Sometimes and most of the time she stays latched to my boob and is just suckling all through the night when I bring her into my bed. Sometimes I de latch her and take her back to her cot and she’ll go back to sleep or might wake up again after an hour crying. I’m just wondering is this ok for me to do or am I making her too dependent on the boob through the night? She is going through the 8-10 month sleep regression at the moment so nights have been really difficult recently.

TIA!

I would go wuth whatever is easiest/works best. I did this with both of mine and then stored breastfeeding at night at around 2. I found it relatively easy to stop at 2 once they could understand. From 1 had a couple of nights away and they seemed fine.

It's up to you but personally I wouldn't encourage her to comfort suckle. I'd still co-sleep but would take her off the breast if not feeding.
