After nursery snack

Can anyone recommend a healthy-ish post nursery snack? My LO has dinner at nursery but at 3.30pm so needs something before bed and doesn't like toast. We've tried crumpets but he's sick of them, and bought scotch pancakes this week before realising they are super sugary! Grateful for any suggestions!

Fruit

An omelette
Hummus & pepper/cucumber
Cheese and crackers
Fruit, yoghurt & homemade granola
You could make pancakes following one of the recipes that uses banana egg & I can’t think what else so not full of sugar 😊

Omelette
Cheese toastie /quesadillas
Porridge
Beans on toast
Humous/tzatziki/Taramasalata and veggie sticks
Chicken satay
Egg fried rice
Soup
Pasta and pesto/cheese/sauce

My two tend to have Weetabix, porridge, peanut butter sandwich, cheese on toast, pancakes or a buttered roll, with fruit on the side

My DDs still love:
apple quarters and maybe a little piece of cheese
carrot/cucumber & hummus
toast with jam/honey
1/2 bagel & peanutbutter/cream cheese
organix cereal bar
raisins
bowl of cereal + milk

Pesto pasta - cream cheese mixed with pesto and a bit of the pasta water. My toddler happily eats cold. I make some for our dinner / lunchboxes and decant a couple of portions into some Tupperware pots in the fridge.

Pikelets as a variation from crumpets?

Ellepff · 15/01/2025 20:22

We often do porridge before bed with chia seeds and frozen berries

Wateroffacatsback · 15/01/2025 20:26

Cheese on toast
Soup with bread and butter
Porridge
Peanut butter sandwich
Rice cakes with humous

We usually do something like this with a side of chopped fruit/veg

Just whatever we have had for dinner last night! I’m pretty lazy though!
