CHILD MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Invite your MP to the #FixTheCMSevent in Parliament If we encourage more MPs to support our campaign, we can add pressure on the government to include fixing the CMS as part of their plans to reduce child poverty. Ask your MP to turn up to our event.
Invite your MP to our event in Parliament on 28th January. It’s quick and easy to do so - we've created a template email for you. You dont need to be a single parent to support this. thankyou
Gingerbread’s latest research found that children are going without essentials because they are not getting the maintenance they are entitled to. Where it’s received, child maintenance cuts the child poverty rate by 25%. This means that day-to-day expenses like school uniforms and food can be met, and kids have a decent quality of life. The government will soon be writing their plan for tackling child poverty, so we need to make sure that they commit to fixing the CMS as part of it.
We need as many MPs as possible on board, championing this campaign in parliament because this gives us a better chance of persuading the government to act. https://act.gingerbread.org.uk/invite-your-MP#activeopt=Yes]
