1am-7am work days
1am - whenever, afternoon if I like & kids will sleep in on weekends too or get in with us

what do your times look like?

Growlybear83 · 14/01/2025 00:48

I usually go to bed at about 1 am and aim to go to sleep by 2, and get up at about 8.30 on work days. At weekends, I get up at about 9.

WarmthAndDepth · 14/01/2025 00:51

Finish work and to bed between 1 and 2am, up at 7am.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, I love going to bed nice and early at around 11pm, and enjoy a lie in until about 8am.

Bed 9pm wake anytime between 4-6am with young children.

NatalieH2220 · 14/01/2025 06:10

Bed between 11pm-midnight
Wake 5.30-6am

Similar bedtime at weekends but can usually sleep in until 7am.

Brooomhilda · 14/01/2025 06:14

It's the same all week. Go up to bed 7.30pm then read until 8.30pm or 9pm (depending on how tired I am). Then sleep. Wake at 6. We get about 9/9.5 hours of sleep but both need it. Toddler is in bed at 6pm and up at 7am.

Pigeonqueen · 14/01/2025 06:19

11:30pm and wake around 6am - used to be an early riser with Ds who has autism (now 13) who would wake for the day, everyday at 4.30am (!) but now just can’t sleep later due to peri menopause I think!

DreamSpaceships · 14/01/2025 06:53

Go to bed between 10 and 10.30
Get up between 5.30 and 6.45 depending on when I can definitely not get any more sleep. I sleep like a newborn so wake every hour and struggle to get back to sleep at all after 2/3 am so either get up and read for a bit or just lie in bed trying to sleep. By 5.30 I’ve definitely had enough of trying to sleep if the latter, if I’ve got up for a bit I can usually doze for a bit once I go back to bed so stay in bed until 6.45.

I actually love having my first cup of tea of the day in a quiet house before anyone else is up and just being able to sit for a bit before I start the day properly.

MeanderingGently · 14/01/2025 07:09

I have discovered sleep times change drastically with age.

I used to be very active all day, on the go from dawn until dusk. Bedtime around 10.30 - midnight, always up at 6am ready to start the day. In fact, I'd wake naturally at 6am without an alarm, even on days off and weekends, and I'd be up and about.

Now I'm in my mid 60s and I can't believe how my sleep pattern has changed. There are times I get so tired I feel dizzy and have to lie down for an hour in the late afternoon. Often I can't keep going so I'm in bed for 8pm. But of course, that means I'm awake at 2am or 3am and can't sleep. So I get up and potter about, have a drink and might go back to bed 5am. That means I sleep in and wake up tired and the pattern repeats itself. I seem to have reset my sleep patterns and don't seem to be able to set them back again.

Speaking to others my age and certainly those older, this seems to be so common as to be 'normal'. I've just come to accept it. Those who are younger, be warned!

Vettrianofan · 14/01/2025 07:11

Bed 8/9pm. Awake 6am and up for the day.

MassiveSalad22 · 14/01/2025 07:19

Made sure I went to sleep at 10pm a last night because lately it’s been 11ish and I cannot cope! 10pm-6am whether working or not. Lie in is usually until 8am one day at the weekend - sometimes lie in bed longer but can’t stay asleep longer. Up a few times in the night with a child who should know better by now 😂 (nearly 3)

Natsku · 14/01/2025 07:48

On work nights I go to bed between 9 and 10 (aim for earlier, usually miss) and get up at 5 (before my children, have to wake DS up at 6 to take him to breakfast club)
Weekends I go to bed maybe around midnight, maybe later, depends what I'm doing, and get up when I wake up which might be anywhere from 8 until midday (Sundays I usually get up at 8, to take DS to circus school). OH gets up with DS (he's usually awake before him)

kiana2015 · 14/01/2025 17:11

I usually go around midnight - dependant on DD who is sometimes refusing to sleep at that time, in the mornings I can not wake unless she is awake I don't know why, I want to aim for 6/7am but she tries to sleep until 10:30

Go to bed and sleep at 2am (sleep as soon as I'm in bed), wake at 6.30am, breastfeeding in bed until 7am. Same all week.

TortillaTam · 14/01/2025 17:53

Bed around 10:30/11, alarm set for 5:30 Mon - Fri.
Bed later and sleep in later over the weekend, 3 Primary aged DCs.

spuddy4 · 14/01/2025 18:12

8-9pm and up at 3:30am on working days. Absolute killer in the winter when it's cold.

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 14/01/2025 18:22

Go to bed between 10.30 and 12 depending on how sensible I’m being, up between 5.45 (office days) and 7 (WFH days, if DS sleeps in that long). On weekends usually DH and I take turns having lie ins til 9 but he often works late shifts and doesn’t finish til 1am so I skip my lie in when that happens and let DH sleep as he needs it more!

maddiemookins16mum · 14/01/2025 18:25

Bed between 10-11pm on weekdays, up 6-6.30am Mon - Fri.

Weekend we get up between 7-9am and go to bed between 11pm-1am.

toffeeappleturnip · 14/01/2025 18:30

12 till 7 - Mon/Fri

1 till 9/10 - Sat/Sun

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 14/01/2025 18:38

Work days usually go to bed around 9pm and asleep anywhere from 9.30pm to 11pm. Get up at 7am but wake up anywhere from 5am onwards.

Weekends pretty similar tbh, probably wake up closer to 8am although this Saturday I slept till 11am which is crazy!!

I remember the early years with kids and being excited if we slept in till 7am! Kids are teens now so I rarely see them before midday.

crostini · 14/01/2025 19:18

I go to bed between 9 and 10 and set alarm for around 7:30 to wake the kids up and get them ready for pre school run.

On weekends I still go to bed before 10 but we all wake up between 8-9.

I can easily sleep 12 hours every night

Edenmum2 · 14/01/2025 21:24

Go to bed pretty much as soon as 2 year old is asleep at 8. Watch tv until about 11/11.30. Up at 8 on a good day, sometimes earlier depending on said 2 year old.

Weekends DH does so I stay up later and sleep in for a couple more hours.

YRGAM · 14/01/2025 22:07

Wake any time between 5 and 6am, usually closer to 5 - two stubbornly early rising children see to that. In the evening I'm very rarely still conscious by 10.30
