Three.

I guess it is personal choice for you as a family, we bathe the boys every night but I know some families who dont

TeenyTinyTorya · 04/05/2008 21:13

However many it takes to remove dirt - has to be nightly for my 13 month old, the coating of banana, mud, snot and dried milk would get a bit much after two days

ummmm.

2 at a push.

I do wash his hamds and face about 50 times a day though.

stuffitall · 04/05/2008 21:15

It was every day for me with all three, as part of bedtime routine. Never felt comfortable with the pooey bottom thing however effective babywipes are.

AbbeyA · 04/05/2008 21:24

I always had every day-it was just part of the bedtime routine. I found it made for a calm go to sleep time. Bath-bedtime story-sleep.

horsemadgal · 04/05/2008 21:27

1 - 4, every night would aggrevate DS's excema. That's my excuse anyways!

TheProvincialLady · 04/05/2008 21:28

Once or twice a week, or more often if I am in the bath and can't persuade him to play nicely by the side whilst I apply face pack

silentmadge · 04/05/2008 21:29

At least one.

one or two. depends how dirty they are.

Olihan · 04/05/2008 21:33

Mine has 2. Partly due to my laziness (can't be bothered with the hassle & mess involved in bathing 3 under 4's every night ) and partly because he has bad excema which fares up after a bath.

Otherwise it's hands and face wash.

Thankyouandgoodnight · 04/05/2008 21:36

These are exactly the answers that I was hoping to hear . We used to do every night when she was younger and she's fine with or without one in terms of going to bed and the routine etc. She always gets a hands and face wash after every meal and teeth twice a day, so I guess it's the bottom and armpit areas that get left behind. Wipes never seem to quite get things as clean as a sit in the bath does....

I probably did it every day because I enjoyed it! I didn't find it a chore. I loved doing bedtime stories too.

ja9 · 04/05/2008 21:39

we bath los every other night. their hair looks awful if we go any longer...

Indith · 04/05/2008 21:43

Mine has one every night, because he loves it and it chills him out. Otherwise he gets all tired and arsey around 6 and I don't want to put him to bed that early (value my sleep-ins!).Plus tis nice daddy time when he gets home from work. Otherwise he would have a grumpy baby to put up with.

MamaMaiasaura · 04/05/2008 21:53

i put ds2 (18 weeks) in bath every night. Dont actually wash him and no products in bath, just me and him having a play time. Can this damage skin then?

eekamoose · 04/05/2008 21:59

I would say 4 or 5 or 6. Just because that's how we did it. No problems with excema here, though.

1 bath a week is too infrequent imho.

MrsMattie · 04/05/2008 22:00

My 3 yr old probably has 3-4 baths a week. I stopped the evening bath time faff when it stopped winding him down and started winding him up!

SlightlyMadSweet · 04/05/2008 22:01

1-2. I wouldn't do any more unless really soiled.

It drys the skin (even just the plain water).

seeker · 04/05/2008 22:04

Depends whether they like baths or not. If they do, sometimes 2 a day. If they don't 1 or 2 a week.

CocodeBear · 04/05/2008 22:04

One a week will do.

DD1 got one a night at this age, now DDs 1 and 2 get bathed twice a week, once if we're especially knackered.

Hands and face washed daily! And DD2s bum. That's all the muckiest bits covered .

morningglory · 04/05/2008 22:06

Everyday at our house.

DS2(12 weeks) has terrible reflux and has a thin layer of coagulated milk from head to toe. That and the explosive poohs 4 times a day make me hesitant to skip a day.

DS1(4y) is incredibly dirty at the end of the day (plays outside almost every day), so he definiely needs his baths!

MegBusset · 04/05/2008 22:11

DS (14mo) gets one every day, he has eczema so we use Oilatum.

Erkdontwanttogetsoggy · 04/05/2008 22:13

1-3 times a week here but we don't use wipes so dd's bottom effectively gets a wash every day as we use cotton wool and water after poos (she gets awful nappy rash if we use wipes, first baby didn't).
