How to settle toddler - weaning from breast at 2.5 years

Hello. I’ve breastfed my little one for 2.5 years, it’s been her biggest comfort and pretty much the only way I’ve been able to settle her and get her down for naps. I felt like I’ve had to stop now as breastfeeding has been causing me pain - I feel bad but it’s the right time for me as I can’t handle the discomfort of it now. Only thing is, now I have no idea how to settle her for a nap. I cuddled her to sleep last night without breastfeeding and it went fine, however it is impossible for me to settle her for a nap - and she definitely still needs one as she gets very groggy when she misses one! Any advice for alternatives to breastfeeding for settling toddlers after weaning? Thank you :)

Emma Pickett is your friend here. She’s an IBCLC with a special interest in stopping breastfeeding. She has lots of information on her website, instagram, books and podcast about stopping breastfeeding with older nurselings.

She has a podcast episode all about weaning ‘boobie monsters’ which might help.

Could you put her in the pushchair and go out for a walk at the same time each day?
