I must start by saying I KNOW this is normal, I guess I’m looking for a little solidarity.
my boy will be 4 in April and he’s a hilarious and sweet little dude normally. But the past 6-8 weeks he’s been absolutely horrendous. I can’t really explain it all but I will try and bullet point, and hopefully some people can tell me how on earth they’re coping with similar behaviour.
It’s probably also worth noting that he’s due to be assessed for ASD. No massive concerns or developmental delays or anything but there are increasing signs.

  • BOSSY
  • Won’t take no for an answer - usually responds “but I WANT to/it”
  • wants total rubbish to eat for mealtimes
  • mealtimes are disastrous - if it’s not what he asked for he literally will not eat it. These have been our biggest meltdowns. Especially as we suspect some sensory issues around food.
  • extremely clingy and won’t play alone
  • plays dumb like he doesn’t know how to do something
  • lazy tendencies “you do it”
  • shouting
  • Wants everything on HIS schedule and terms
  • backchat!
  • just generally being so difficult and contrary and stubborn

basically HELP!?
