DS6 miserable at dad's house

ExDP and I split when DS was a newborn.

DS stays with him one night a week, and with ExDP's parents for one night (typically). It does sometimes change and ExDP will sometimes have him an extra night. He lives five minutes away from me.

Ever since DS was around 3 - his behaviour there has been bad. Hitting, kicking, screaming, shouting, crying and being generally difficult. This is the opposite of the child my parents and I experience.

He's going through a particularly bad phase atm, and ExDP has just called me to DS screaming and crying because of having a toy confiscated at soft play.

He's always happy to go to his dad's.

I'm at a complete loss?

Why is he spending one night a week at grandparents house? Is it because his dad is unable to have him that night? If so, can you not change nights or just have one night at his dads then bak to yours?
