Clothing my boy is a nightmare!

I have a 17month old boy that hates hats, gloves, anything on his legs like a blanket or buggy cover.

Now that it’s winter, I don’t want him to be cold, but he hates wearing these items and just takes them off straight away and has a tantrum if I persist!

Any tips with this behaviour, please say it’s normal 😥

Snowsuit for the buggy instead of blankets?

Similar here. Hats in particular I can barely get on them. But I have found that if I wait until they feel the cold a bit and then offer a hat or mittens they often will tolerate it.

Have you got a decent footmuff that zips up high for the pram? Or use a snowsuit? Or try long thick socks or tights under his trousers to have another layer on his legs.

We go for an oversized fleece lined puddle suit (we've got the hippychick one, they come up huge) and if it's really cold I just don't velcro up the sleeves so that they are long and cover my little ones hands. I don't worry about hats if the rest of her is warm.

Mines got a Trespass puddle suit that's slightly padded for the exact same reason. Mostly he will not wear a hat but sometimes if he feels the cold he'll allow it😅

My son was like this, now he actively puts hats on! We bought snowsuits, and pulled the hood over his head when out and about. I managed to get hats that had ties under the chin and had to distract him enough so he didn’t pull it off before we went out.

Thermal leggings under his trousers? I had a coat/hat/glove hating toddler who I layered up with long sleeved thermal top, jumper, fleecy jumper on top. Thankfully she got better!
