Hi

apologies maybe should post under sleeping but thought this may get more response 🤞

my son is nearly 2 and in a cot bed and uses a sleeping bags. They are getting snug on him now but when looking there aren’t many 2+ sleeping bags available. He hasn’t started trying to climb out of his cot yet but I don’t think it will be too long and I know at that point no sleeping bags and we will remove cot sides and use bed guards

so my questions :

  • did you just do it all in one night? Go straight to a pillow and duvet in one go? I have got a cover less duvet which all seem around 4 tog
  • what do toddlers use overnight in summer? Last summer we used a 0.5 tog sleeping bags ?

We use sleeping bags with feet from Slumbersac that go all the way up to adult sizes 😂 they are expensive but been great and DS loves them. They also do different togs for summer/winter.
DS also uses a thin toddler duvet but usually kicks it off in the night.

I dont think DD used the pillow but once she had a duvet she used it all year, and just wore summer PJs. If it was a heatwave then I'd just have used the duvet cover and no duvet.

Toddlers can kick off the duvet if too hot or pull it up if cold, don't over think it.

I moved my toddler to a duvet when she was 2. She kicks it off when she gets too hot and then pulls it back up when she’s cold.
Before that she was in sleeping bags with feet so just like a very thick sleep suit essentially

I'd introduce it now, alongside a normal (i.e. not winter) sleeping bag. Then when weather gets warmer, take the sleeping bag off.
