Positive stories about having three children

Has anyone got some positive experiences of having a third child they could share?

So many threads on here about the negatives (financial impact, less attention for each child, only two hands etc) but would love to see some positives.

We have two children and there is a chance I’m pregnant (going to test later today, we have been away for new year so waiting until home).I am now panicking and wanting to read some positive stories!

@ForOliveOP Believe me when I say I’ve read every thread on Mumsnet there is about having three kids! And many are about the negatives so I just thought I’d ask about the positives.

There's a load of negatives about having any number of children that isn't one. I've seen loads of threads with negative stories about having two too!

I don't have three but was one of 3 growing up. It was great fun growing up and there was always someone to play with and we had loads of imaginary games growing up. My parents really enjoyed it they said!

Sadly we don't get on now, but that's down to personalities and some incidents that have happened. Nothing to do with how we were parented (my parents are amazing) or being one of 3!

This is a refreshing thread to read though. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against one-child families and I don't buy into the lonely only child myth and think they can absolutely thrive etc etc.

But I feel any thread where you even talk about the benefits of more than one child and the benefits of siblings you're immediately shot down. Even though I don't get on with mine now, I still enjoyed growing up with them and felt the benefit of them and wanted that for my children (though we are stopping at 2!).

I am one of three. I’ve never liked it or understood why she had a third when they already had one of each tbh. Less time, less money, we never went on holiday as 5 is way more hassle than 4 (or it was then). Just my view as one of three (I get on great with my siblings btw, it’s not like any of us chose to be one of three).

I have 3 - slightly different dynamic maybe as our eldest is 12 and the youngest two are just turned 3 and 3 months! So the eldest is quite self sufficient and the younger two still very demanding. We’re not long into family of 5 life but already it is extremely busy, demanding, expensive… somebody always needs something from me. BUT, I am so happy we decided to go ahead with number 3, baby DS has completed our family perfectly and I’d rather be a bit more skint with my 3 than have a few more holidays with 2.
