14 month old won't drink out a cup - tips please?

My 14 month old son will not drink water out a cup. He is quite happy to play with the water, spill it, watch it pour, watch me fill the cup up with the tap, watch me drink it, shake the cup, he'll take some sips but then either let it all dribble out or he will spit it all out - anything but actually drink it!

I feel like I've tried a million cups, I've tried sticking to a cup continuous for a while, hasn't worked, switch to another and stick to that.. And on and on and on. I have the cup filled and have it sitting around the room so he sees it and can go to it whenever but nope.

Cups I've tried :
Tommee tippee free flow
Tum tum tots straw cup
Munchkin 360
Munchkin straw cup
Nuby
Dinky cup open cup
I also bought a small baby chino cup and he drank water out of it once then figured out how to open the lid and spill it.

Help! Seriously any help or tips appreciated 😂 my main aim was to have him solely on cups by this point but he won't even drink milk out a cup either. So still on milk in a bottle (please don't judge).

Thanks in advance!

This isn't what you'll want to hear but he will
figure it out when he is ready. I was the same as you with my daughter. She just made a mess with cups. Then one day when she was 2 she just clicked.

Agree with this.

Saying that, I can't recommend the EZPZ cup enough. Worth a try OP.

Relax.

My 20 month old is still having milk in a bottle twice a day.

As for drinking water, could you try a straw?

As in a normal straw you or I would use, with a bit of water in a cup.

Just give him a bottle, he has only just turned one. Plenty of much older kids have them. Let him continue to play with the cups and drink from them yourself. He will get there.

Those all in one straw cups with motifs. We've had so many Disney characters over the years

Thank you ALL so much for the reassurance! I've felt a huge pressure re bottles, cups etc and felt like I was holding him back or not encouraging him enough.

I'll keep persevering with the cups and see how he gets on. I don't want to change or add too many new things at once so the cups are the main focus at the moment!

Thank you all again ✨

Time.
My daughter was 18 months before she drank anything except a bottle. She only got over her bottle aversion at 10 months and we went through so many non-bottle option when trying to get her through this and got nowhere. At 20 months we started switching bottles for other vessels
