How old were your dc before they played in their bedrooms without any adult with them?

Hiya,
Ds is 4, and still plays downstairs (bringing toys from his room) - hence the downstairs looking like Toys R Us!!

Just wondering how old your dc were before they played upstairs without an adult (bearing in mind my dd - 2, will probably want to be there as well).

lol, our main concern is the stairs tbh.

My two are 3.10yo and 2.4yo and play upstairs themselves most days i.e. we took down the stair gates when DD2 was 2 and they can play upstairs if they want. I go up every 10 mins or so to see what they are wrecking.

probably 3.5, maybe 4.

DD did from pretty early on as we had a one floor apartment and her room was only next door to the living room. When we moved to our current house, when she was 3.5y, she started properyly going to her bedroom or playroom to play a lot more. It is lovely - no more boxes of toys all over the living room

4
But there is always someone nearby

dd1 and dd2 started playing together upstairs when dd1 was around 6 and dd2 around 3.

dd1 is very sensible (and a tell-tale, lol) so i soon get to hear of any mischief that dd2 is up to. I usually check on them when it goes quiet ...always the danger sign that they're up to something

ds (4) and dd (2) will play upstairs for limited periods. With stairgate closed (ds can open it but I hear it!) & frequent checks.
I actually still keep all toys downstairs, so actually they just roll about with the duvet & beanbags in ds' room.

Going to try ds tomorrow. DS will say if dd is doing anything that she shouldn't be, so should be ok.

Will blame you lot if it is not
