DS 8 months has got these spots that have developed over the course of today. There are more on his back, arms, legs and bits. Do you think this is chicken pox? He’s also very grumpy.

Probably. If they are very itchy. It may also be going round their school/ nursery. Not contagious when scabbed over.

Probably

Thought chickenpox was mainly on the trunk?

Pinkstuffs · 17/12/2024 19:20

He has got a rash on his trunk but it’s actually more of a pinprick rash. He does tend to get that when he’s ill.

It looks like CP to me, my first spots were on my head but my DDs were on the trunk. Get him in an oat bath to help soothe.

You'll know tomorrow if there are loads more

With chickenpox there are usually spots in various 'stages' - some just reddening, some blistering, some burst, some crusting rather than it being all the same sort of rash.

Looks like chickenpox. Poxclin was helpful for my little ones, you can get it from any pharmacy. Hope your little guy feels better soon.

These look exactly the same as what my little boy had, I searched the internet loads to work out if they were chicken pox or not. He only had 10 spots in total and exactly the same with the pin prick rash on his belly . He only itched two of them as well! I was really unsure if they were chicken pox or not, but they followed the pattern with scabbing over etc. after speaking to a few mums their little ones only had a few spots too. My mum said my eldest sister was covered in spots and me and my other sister only had a few spots, so not all follow the pattern of being absolutely covered. Hope he feels better soon!

Looks likely

RolaColaLola · 17/12/2024 19:36

Are there any fluid filled blisters?

Viviennemary · 17/12/2024 19:38

Doesn't look like it to me. No blisters. But they might develop in a day or so.

Yes some of them look like pimples.
