Changing nurserys - toddler

DS 2.5 has been at rhe same nursery since 6 months.

He loved it until about 6 months ago. Nothing changed, routine the same (4 days a week) same kids same nursery staff etc. But for whatever reason that we (or nursery) can find he hates it. Screams and cries to go. When he's there apparently he is OK but just quiet. Fine when we pick him up.

I know this is common but its gone on so long. When I ask him he says it's "ok" then starts talking about something else.

Anyway. Nursery is closing down at the end of the year. We have another nursery lined up for him but I'm dreading it. He's quite an emotional soul and I'm so worried this change will just be horrific.

Any advice on anything we can do to ease the transition?

Honestly I'm not sure but hopefully someone will be along soon who can offer some advice Flowers

You never know, it may be good to have a change. My DD started school this year and I was worried for similar reasons. She had been very reluctant to go to nursery for quite a while - lots of clinging and tears. School has gone much better than I feared- she'd still stay at home for preference and has to put a purposefully grumpy face on a dawdle at the door, but the tears are a thing of the past.
