Sleep stalling or something else ?

Hope someone can help .
My 4 year old has always gone to sleep really well - since Sunday night he goes to bed and insists on going for a poo even though every night before bed he goes for one - complaining of tummy ache at bedtime also - none of this happens in the day - always at nighttime - he is absolutely fine in himself during the day . Also need to add that he loves coming downstairs after bedtime so wondering if it could be FOMO? . I took him to the drs today and he couldn’t see anything wrong with him bit because of this sudden change in bedtime behaviour I can’t shake off something is wrong . Has anyone else children ever been through this ? Or offer any guidance.

Is he anxious about anything? My dc is utterly fine until bed then everything he's been worried about in the day comes out.

This time of year is hard for young children, there is so much build up with Christmas, santa, expectations, massive changes in routines. From making a Christmas card or decoration to nativity plays and learning songs. It can weigh on them. Plus it's illness season and close to end of term, they're all overwhelmed in so many ways.

Thanks for replying Lucy locket - the only thing that could be making him anxious is he said at the weekend while at my sisters he watched a YouTube video about a car with worms in his tummy …. Wondering if it could be that ? But surely that wouldn’t still be happening after 6 days 😬
