Where do I go from here ?

I decided to let DS (nearly 2) have a go on the potty/toilet from a couple of months ago, and with his nappy off is pretty good about going to wee on the toilet (not quite so keen on the potty), so now we let him have his nappy off most of the time at home.
At nursery they offer him the potty every changing time and sometimes he wees in it, but as he can't pull his own trousers down yet he can't just take himself.

I'm just not quite sure where to go from here - do I just stick with what we're doing for a few more months and then try the whole pants thing, or would it be worth a more concerted effort now ? Any problems in continuing to be indolent and letting him sort it out himself ?

Can't nursery ask him very 30 mins. Don't ask me though, I know my ds is ready but have had the odd day of trying and pooey pants are THE WORST. Don't think nursery will go for pants until he is more 'trained'...but they should be able to get him going more frequently and taking him to the toilt if that's what he prefers.

They would if I asked them, but I didn't want to push him too hard and put him off iykwim, as he seemed to be doing pretty well on his own. At the moment he takes himself off to the toilet and sits on it in trousers and nappy, so I hope that he'll get the hang of the trousers up/down soon.

Id just keep doing what u are at the moment and concentrate on practising his 'pulling trousers down' skills first. Loose fitting trackie botoms or shorts are best.
