My 7 year old and I are fighting one of the usual Dec bugs, my heads so wooly. I’ve just realised I’ve given my son too many doses of Nurophen in 24 hours. He had a headache at 4.30am and I forgot about that dose. It’s the first day of giving him meds and I knew he could have 10 ml, he never takes the whole lot from the spoon either! But I thought he’d had the nhs recommended 4 doses with at least 4 hours in between but actually with that dose in the early hours he’s had 5. I’m beside myself for not realising 😭😭😭

Breathe. Don't panic. Stay calm. Phone 111

I wouldn’t worry too much, easily done. Speak with a pharmacist or call 111 if you’re worried

He will be fine, ive done it before accidentally, especially if you’re keeping track of several kids dose times and your own lol xx

It will be fine as those doses are very low compared to what can be administered in hospital. But call 111 for advice anyway.

In future: write down every dose on the same piece of paper. Keep the bottles of medicines on top of it with a pen and write it the moment you deliver it. Also useful if their health deteriorates and you need to be able to give an accurate picture to a doctor or nurse
