5 M.O explosive poo after every bottle

My 5 M.O has never had any bowel problems or feeding issues until now. Over the past few days every time she has a decent sized bottle she’s been having an explosive poo pretty much immediately after. It’s not a big poo but it is a pale yellow colour and has lots of mucous. She seems happy in herself and has okay weight gain but recently has started rejecting her milk a bit- she’s gone from having 7oz bottles every 3 hours to barely getting through 4-5.

she is currently teething (I can see the teeth coming through), she was quite poorly 2 weeks ago that she only just seems to be fully over and I had a bad D&V bug this time last week. My main concern is that she’s developing an intolerance to her milk- although I don’t know if that can happen at. 5 MO?

thank you in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Winding is your friend here.

The poo is explosive because there is trapped wind behind it.

Make sure you get a burp after every bottle and the problem will go away.

Is it possible she has a mild dose of the bug? This happened with my DS at 6 months, he didn’t get it from us but was a bit iffy for a while

He did then get D&V at 8 months and wasn’t right for a good few weeks

Children can also develop temporary lactose intolerance after a bug?

@CatchHimDerry I did wonder that. I couldn’t eat for 2 days without it ending in a disaster so she might have a milder version. She hasn’t been right ever since the bad cold she had a few weeks ago.

I didn’t know that about the temporary intolerance! She even did it at 3am last night which she hasn’t done since she was a few weeks old
