Loud music for 7 month old?

FTM taking 7 month old baby to a wedding soon, does she need ear defenders for the dancefloor? We plan on dancing a lot, as she LOVES music but worried music might be too loud for her little ears, but also not sure if ear defenders will block out too much. Any advice/similar experiences? 😊

You could do. We went on holiday abroad when DS was 7 months old. The entertainment in the evening was very loud. We accidentally left the ear defenders at home so we moved to the back of the room and just limited it to 15-20ish minutes before heading back to our room for the night. He didn’t show any signs of upset, we just wanted to be cautious.

It’s worth buying some to have on hand, then possibly seeing on the night how loud it is? Maybe going to the back of the room or room next door even to reduce the sound but still enjoy it? You could take turns with others doing that if you feel antisocial but we find at weddings people spread out anyway. A quarter of our guests just stayed outside because it was a warm evening.

Yes, I would if are going to be on the dance floor. Though realistically, assuming it’s an evening wedding, she is more likely to be asleep in pushchair or sling by 8/9pm when music kicks off. In pushchair, just push her to a quieter safe place to sleep. In sling, you’ll just have to be a bit careful with ear defenders and head positioning.

We took our oldest daughter to 5 weddings before her first birthday, no ear defenders were ever needed and she is sensitive to noise, even now at 7. We did take our youngest to an outdoor concert when she was 2 months and did need ear defenders then but it was a rock concert so it was…loud 😂
