I am struggling to get my 3 year old to hold the pen/pencil properly.
Does anyone have any tips/tools they used?

Just holding it at 3 is fine. They’re probably just not developmentally ready yet.

A 3 yo doesn't need to hold it properly.

It’s fine. Google ‘pencil grip by age’ if you want some visuals of what’s normal for a 3YO. But you’re looking at around age 5 to hold it ‘properly’.
