Talk to me about night time nappies (washables!)

Was just wondering what people are using for night times? What method or combo works best?

During the day we use boring prefolds, but at night dd's been using a Minki Huggle (which seems unbeatable), a BabyBeehind Hemp btp (which always leaks, even with another booster inside) and a Motherease sandy with a hemp or bamboo booster (these leak 50% of the time).

Ive just ordered a Babybeehind fleece/bamboo btp and a TotsBots Bamboozle to try.
I think Ive become addicted to trying out new nappies!

We used a babybeehind bamboo at night and the only leaks we've ever had are when its come outside the wrap. Absorbancy wise we find it great. On the downside it takes ages to dry and for a birth to potty nappy it is very small - for us thats ok as DS - 23mths - is small but on a big toddler I think you would struggle.

Ellas House bumhugger + airflow wrap

or

Pocket nappy stuffed with bamboo terry square

What wraps are you using with your shaped night nappies? Get the wrap right and the leaks will stop. I like the airflow for night time as DD finds it more comfy than the rikki and it is breatheable.

Welcome to the club of nappy addicts - I think there's millions of us on here !

For night-time I use either a terry with a muslin as a booster or a One-Life with snap-in booster or a Tots Bots plus a Motherease Airflow or One Life wrap over any of them - perfect!

How old is your baby? Mine is nearly 5 months and feeds 3 times during the night, and I think that the Tots Bots won't last the night for much longer but I can always stick a microfleece insert or muslin if that happens. I find the key thing is the wrap, I've tried tons of different ones and Motherease and One Life beat the others hands down.

ahh was going to recommend the baby beehind. not sure which one we have, but it def does the trick on my mega-wetter lol

ooh also bambeasy with an extra booster (usually use a big mother of eden microfibre one)

mumof2pixies · 28/04/2008 21:16

I use the Babybeehind pul wrap on my babybeehind hemp btp, and a motherease rikki wrap on the Sandys. Im suprised that the babybeehind hemp always leaks though, even with a bamboo booster in!

We use plain old square cloth nappies and at night we use an old jersey that I shrunk and cut into a triangle and just pin, over top. Covers everything and never soaks through. DS is 10m now.

Tellyaddict - shes 9 months, and often wakes in the night, Id say she has about 4 feeds (including the bedtime one), so I suppose it is alot of wee!

oooh I know, the best nappy we had was a bumsnuggler.
you'd have to google it I think because I got it from the wahmall shop that doesn't appear to be there any more, but the lady might still sell them from somewhere.

it's a fab all in one hemp nappy with a fleece cover.

BigBadMouse · 28/04/2008 21:27

Oh I think the bumhugger is fab - tried everything else mentioned on here so far and the bumhugger worked best for us. I love the full fleece lining to keep the bottom completely dry - really works well - and also the pocket for extra stuffing (should you require it).

I find the airflow more reliable than the rikki as it is more adjustable around the legs.

I use a Little Kiwi Quick-Flip, it's really absorbent, not too pricey, great for nights. It's a small UK company too. I boost it with hemp and microfibre between the flaps.
