today my aunt and uncle came round to visit my 3 week old and my uncle said he had a cold sore - I made them wash their hands and said no kissing but noticed my uncle kept touching his face and possibly his mouth, and then the babies hand and face.
I quickly took the baby of my aunt and washed his hands but now I’m panicking I’ve exposed him to herpes. If it’s relevant I’ve had cold sores all my life so hoping he has some immunity!
I know the risk must be low but I can’t help panicking - also very annoyed at myself for not telling him to not touch the baby with a cold sore!!
