Horrible anxiety regarding my child

I have 1 child aged 7. Born via fertility treatment prematurely. Now split with father and re married. His dad had started taking more interest now he's not single.
Here's the thing I'm on anti depressants long term but I have terrible anxiety about my child. I think he's going to pre decease me. I never stop him doing things but I worry about illness, accidents etc. How can I make it stop?!?

Therapy and medication.

Hi OP, this sounds like OCD. Have a look online to see if any of it sounds familiar. And then speak to your GP about getting some CBT therapy. Best of luck x

I agree. There's no shame in what you are feeling, but take comfort in the fact that it's not normal to feel it this strongly and it can be fixed. You don't have to do this forever, and you don't have to do it alone.

I hope you can make that first step, it can be daunting but it's worth it - you deserve to enjoy your son and life, not being worrying all the time.

I find Fluoxetine is the best AD for combatting intrusive thoughts.

Prozac gave me awful bowels lol. I think if I'd have had a 2nd child it maybe better ? But I'm not going to do that.

I know so many people who've lost children.
