Hello, my DS 8 has been home this week with a virus and ear infection, he has viral induced asthma and takes symbicort daily. Feeling like a bad Mum as just discovered I’ve been giving him empty symbicort.
While he hasn’t gotten any asthma symptoms he’s been very hyper and last week too. He’s always been like this when tired or sick but not to this extent. Usually he’s only like this when he’s on serious steroids after an asthma attack.
I don’t know if it’s the pent up energy. It’s like he can’t be reasoned with and is just completely manic.
Im concerned and worn out and I probably could get him into school as he seems almost recovered but im concerned about his behaviour.
Even at the best of times he’s not great with concentrating though not overly disruptive.
