Changing formula brand

Hi,
I have a 6 week old son and I'm having to combifeed him because my breast milk supply is low. He has reflux and colic so has to have his milk thickened.
He's currently on Kendamil, but seems to spit up a lot after a feed (he doesn't spit up as much after breast milk)
I'm thinking it may be the brand that doesn't agree with him? Has anyone had a similar situation and has changed the formula brand?
Thanks ❤️

Hi!
my LO is 11 months now but we also had issues with reflux and colic. The doctors did prescribe gaviscon (I think it was?) however it made her really constipated.
weve always used aptamil 1 or aptamil reflux. We did use cow and gate at one point but for some reason it seemed to make her tummy more upset.
we found doing smaller feeds more regularly really helped as well as sitting up after feeds for 30 mins.
im here to tell you it does get easier! Our 11 month old still gets a bit sicky here and there but nowhere near like before & is now nearly off formula all together :)
oh and just to add colief drops helped us with our DD and with colic , infacol is supposed to be good too

Infacol can make some babies reflux worse so be careful if introducing that. I've had two babies with reflux - i combi fed both of them using cow and gate. Both were prescribed baby gaviscon - i found a full dose made them constipated but if i gave a quarter or a half dose, it sorted the vomiting without causing constipation. So you can play around with the dosing a bit.

Are you working with a lactation consultant? Def worth seeing a professional if you want to keep breastfeeding as well as intoducing formula can cause bf supply to keep dropping. DD1's issues were due to her NICU stay and never really getting bf properly established but a lactation consultant found DD2 had a 90% tongue tie which was causing loads of issues. https://lcgb.org/find-an-ibclc/

Thank you! Good to hear that it will get better.

We've tried a little bit of infacol, but not clnotcied a difference. How often did you use Colief?

Our son is on omeprazole rather than gaviscon. Hard to get it down him and to monitor whether it's helping because he's so up and down

We've been given omeprazole and can change the dosage on that too. Hard to get it down him as it does not taste nice at all!

I'm thinking about coming away from breastmilk to give myself a bit of a break and to take some pressure away etc.
I've been speaking to an infant feeding team. They've been fab

Thank you! My milk supply is getting lower and lower, so I may need to EFF. Will give the Colief a try.
Do you have to add the drops 30 mins before a feed?
