Summer baby's

Hello I have just found out I am pregnant
Due date is roughly 20th July

My first child was a winter baby so dressing her was not that difficult but I have anxiety about what to dress my new baby in when they arrive in the summer.

Do they wear baby grows , hats or just vests with a blanket.
How do you dress at night time.
My anxiety around this already is getting out of hand 🥲 and I think that is down to a baby being hot can result in serious consequences, although a cold baby can aswel but it is easier to manage colder weather with baby's

any help please . Thank you 🤩

Depends on how hot it is. Mine was born during a heatwave in July and wore vests and short rompers a lot at home but also sleepsuits if it wasn’t so hot.

For nighttime we used the Love to Dream arms up swaddles - the 0.2 tog ones for hot nights and the 1 tog ones if not as hot. Their temperature guide worked for us pretty well.

General rule with newborns is whatever you are wearing plus one layer, so for example if you are wearing a vest top and feel comfortable temperature wise then vest and baby grow, if you are wearing a jumper- then vest, baby grow and blanket, if you are wearing a vest n still too hot, just a vest for baby, if you are wearing a jumper and still cold- vest, baby grow, blanket and hat etc etc xx

I just used lots of little rompers, or vests and leggings for daytime, sometimes with a strappy vest underneath and sometimes not depending on how how it was and what we were doing. She didn't really wear a hat at all and we used a mix of thin baby grows or just a vest at night- we had a 1.5 tog sleeping bag and just followed the instructions on that with one of those night lights that say how hot it us.

Congratulations!
