Toddler screams when wiping bum but no nappy rash…

Hi, over the past few weeks my toddler (1 & 1/2) has been having full on meltdowns when it’s time to have her bum changed. She locks her legs together and wriggle around when we try and wipe her bum. She has no nappy rash and doesn’t look sore. She doesn’t mind when we clean her in the bath so I’m hoping it’s just a phase they go through/not liking wet wipes but wanted to check if there’s anything else I should look out for! Thanks

Are the wipes cold? One of mine really hated bum changes when we were out and about and it took me a bit to realise that it was on cold days

i wouldn’t like someone rubbing a cold wipe over my bum in this weather, have you tried cotton wool and warm water. I realise that is not always practical. However if you’re sure they’re not in pain it’s probably just time to be firm, they will grow out of this.

I too would guess it's the sensation of the cold wipes . Try a warm cloth or cotton wool and warm water.
