Cot bed pillow & duvet question!

We're planning to move our toddler into cot bed from cot in the coming weeks, so I'm currently on the hunt for a cot bed pillow and duvet recommendations. There's so many choices, from safe nights (silent night) to george home and many in between! Does anyone know if they're all pretty similar or is it worthwhile getting a more high end brand? Also what's a good tog? Our house is quite warm. Thank you xx

Maximum tog recommended for that size of bed is 4.5tog.

We've got wool toddler pillow and duvet sets from M&S – the duvets are really comfortable (having spent quite a bit of time under them cuddling poorly children). They're nicely cosy in winter, but not too hot in spring/autumn.

Thank you that's good to know :)

Can I ask what's the benefit of having a wool one? I wouldn't have thought that would be machine washable but might be wrong. What do you like about it being wool? Thank you :)

Ours can go in the washing machine, so no problems with that. I'm not sure about a tumble dryer, though, as we don't have one.

My main reason for likely them is that I find that they regulate temperature better than the synthetic ones – we now have a wool duvet on our bed as well, and there's less getting too hot, so sticking a leg out, then getting too cold, etc. or getting sweaty. They're still too warm for summer though, we do use a lighter blanket then.

I also think they are a bit easier for the child to manage the duvet themselves – they're less bulky and ours are also quilted so they sort of want to stay flat, not scrunch up inside the duvet cover or get twisted. Fewer calls in the night to come and untangle the duvet is a win.

DC has the len cot duvet and cover from ikea. It’s not expensive and DC seems cosy with it - it is 3.5 tog. There is a pillow available as well but we have not tried DC with a pillow yet.
